  • May 2005 - St. Nicholas Greek Festival - Northridge, CA. For those of you familiar with this festival, it is quite famous throughout Southern California's San Fernando Valley. Greek World attended the event and it was a blast! The festival featured great shopping, wonderful Greek food, fun-filled Greek dancing, and the Greek music band "Ellas" was spectacular - some of the best Greek music around the Southland! Here's here's our brief photo-op:

Visiting the vendors and artists is always first on the list.
They're the heart and soul of this event!

Mr. Maurice Hewitt is a local artist from Malibu, CA
and one heck of a nice guy! Mr. Hewett creates some of the most
remarkable and unique modern/contemporary Greek art creations -
wall pieces, fantastic hand-crafted vases and much more. You can

which will showcase his very beautiful art collection.


What's a Greek festival without fantastic Greek food?
No festival at all. Well, that's not the case here!

Mr. Theodore (Ted) Lambros as he orders his Greek delectibles.

Mr. Ted Lambros is a very big part of the Greek community.
Since the 1950's, Mr. Lambros has been involved with many different
Greek churches and events. Currently, he heads up the St. Sophia (Los
Angeles) Church Camp for kids. Mr. Lambros is the owner of Arcadian
Flooring, located in Alhambra CA, which specializes in some of the most
beautiful terrazzo work you have ever seen. Click on Arcadian's

The kids had a field day joining in on the fun festival events made just for them. We saw some real artists in the making that day!


St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Northridge offers one of the best
private school education programs around. They cater to children from grades K-8.
Students of the church's school really get an excellent education.

The very popular Greek band "Ellas" is nothing short of fantastic -
some of the best Greek music around. Want to know more?

What's better than Southern California Days ???

Southern California Nights! This year's weather was so beautiful -
the perfect temperature for a festival. What a party it was at the St.
Nicholas Greek Festival. Every year it gets more and more pouplar.

The volunteers are the lifeline of these special events.

Mrs. Roxanne Mansoor dilligently works away behind the booth,
serving patrons some of the best calamari around!

This wonderful lady (pictured here in the cool sunglasses)
is a huge part of the St. Nicholas community.
These food lines lasted all day - all night - all weekend!
We tried to get a better photo, but it was nearly impossible...
she was so busy!

Mrs. Roxanne Mansoor is nothing short of fantastic and what a hard
worker she is. Volunteering her time to nearly every St.
Nicholas church event that happens, Mrs. Mansoor is very active
in the Greek community. She is faithfully reliable, very talented and
an absolutely fantastic cook to boot!

A sincere thank you to you, Roxanne, and to all the volunteers who
make these events possible. Your hard work is very much needed
and appreciated. You're the best, and everyone should know it!

Everyone in this area loves this festival so much - both congregation and local residents alike who come from all around So. Cal.
